America’s Diplomatic Representatives in Iran Host “Jew Hating” Conference

Switzerland, the nation that represents the interests of the United States in Iran, is today hosing a U.N. conference on Race that Israel has called a conference on “Jew Hating.”

President Ahmadinejad, who has called for the elimination of Israel, is speaking at the event.

Israel has recalled its ambassador from Switzerland and has boycotted the conference along with the U.S. and other nations.

Iran also holds as prisoner U.S. journalist Roxana Saberi.

I’m sure the Swiss will be a lot of help with that…..

Swiss President Hans-Rudolf Merz defended his meeting with his Iranian couterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and said criticism was unjustified. “Switzerland is neutral and not part of any alliance,” Merz said in a radio interview, adding that it is part of his country’s national tradition to offer its mediation services.

Undoubtedly, Barack Obama will embrace them both….

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad‘s planned appearance at a racism conference threatened Monday to unravel the United Nations’ attempt at stamping out intolerance worldwide.

Nine countries, including the United States and Israel, are already boycotting the conference over concerns about its fairness.

And Israel angrily recalled its ambassador to Switzerland on Monday to protest Swiss President Hans-Rudolf Merz‘s meeting with Ahmadinejad late Sunday during which Merz pressed the case of a jailed American journalist in Tehran.

“The meeting between the president of a democratic country with an infamous Holocaust-denier such as the president of Iran, who calls for Israel’s destruction, does not mesh with the values that Switzerland represents and that are supposed to be represented at the U.N. conference on racism,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

President Barack Obama said Sunday that the United States would communicate with Iran about journalist Roxana Saberi through its Swiss intermediaries, which have officially represented U.S. interests in Iran since the American hostage crisis that began in 1979.

Even before he spoke, Ahmadinejad became the flash point of a conference already strongly divided over Muslim countries’ attempts to use it to denounce Israel and over their call for a global ban on criticizing Islam.
