Amy Winehouse: Sex Fling Meaningless, “I Want My Blake”

January 19, 2009

Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil will not succeed in his effort to divorce the singer, she has claimed.

The former studio runner – still serving a prison sentence for assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice – last week instructed his solicitor to file for divorce from the Back to Black star.

“I can confirm that I have been instructed to commence divorce proceedings on the grounds of Amy’s adultery,” said a statement from Fielder-Civil’s lawyer Henri Bradman.

But according to the Sun newspaper, 25-year-old Winehouse will fight her husband’s attempt to end their marriage.

“I still love my Blake. I won’t let him divorce me,” she is quoted by the tabloid as saying.

However, Winehouse explained recent photographs of her with actor Josh Bowman in the Caribbean resort of St Lucia by saying she still wants to have “some fun” and a “good time”.

“Blake is the male version of me. We’re perfect for each other. I don’t want to go back home to England. I want to wait for Blake here,” she reportedly told the Sun.

“Josh was lovely. But it was a holiday thing. I’ve got my Blake.”

Amy Winehouse Vacation With Boyfriend Could Lead to Divorce, More Relapse

“On the grounds of Amy’s adultery.”

“I have been instructed to commence divorce proceedings.”

Those two phrases came today from Henri Brandman, solicitor for Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is himself in jail.

He is serving time for grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

Ms. Winehouse’s very public life became even more public when she took a holiday to St. Lucia.

There she engaged in a public display of sex and merry making with Josh Bowman.

Winehouse told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “When I’m with Josh I don’t need drugs to feel good because he makes me feel so amazing.”

“Before I came out here I looked at a photo of myself in the newspaper and was horrified. My skin was a spotty mess and I was so pale and skinny. I thought to myself ‘Girl, you got to sort yourself out or you’ll be dead soon.'”

“I was depressed, doing drugs and had no life at all. Coming here has changed everything. I don’t want the holiday to end. Home is hell for me, I’ve escaped from it.”

But when Josh left so did Amy’s peace of mind, apparently.  She summoned her dad, Mitch Winehouse, to join her.  Her father has assisted her in her efforts to quit drugs and alcohol.

Fielder-Civil was quoted in a British tabloid on 28 November 2008 that he wants to end his marriage to the singer, saying, “I have to let her go to save her life”.

Winehouse was quoted in a British tabloid in January 2009 as saying about Fielder-Civil “I don’t know what’s going on with us now and for the time being I’ve just forgotten I’m even married.” She said then that she would deal her marriage when she got back from holiday.

Well, the holiday seems over now.

Now divorce may be the next life crisis for Winehouse….

Amy Winehouse Summoned to Drug Court

December 31, 2008

British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse has been summoned to appear in a Norwegian court on Jan. 12 in her appeal against a fine in a drugs possession case, a police prosecutor said Wednesday.

Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested in the western city of Bergen in October 2007 during a concert stop on charges of possessing 7 grams (1/4-ounce) of marijuana. They were held overnight and released after paying fines of 3,000 kroner ($415) each.

The 25-year-old Winehouse later appealed the fine, claiming Norwegian police made mistakes in the case. An initial trial date in March 2008 was postponed at the request of her attorney.

Police prosecutor Rudolf Christoffersen says the star and her husband had been informed of the date by British police and will probably have to appear in person in the Bergen appeals court.

“She is the one who appealed, so that makes it her appeal,” Christoffersen told The Associated Press by telephone. “Often, if you don’t appear at your own appeal hearing, then the court will dismiss the appeal.”

Winehouse’s Norwegian attorney, Ole Kvelstad, has said that payment of the fine amounted to a guilty plea, which he said could have serious consequences if she sought to enter the United States. Winehouse was denied a U.S. visa this year when she wanted to perform at the Grammy awards ceremony.

Amy Winehouse: Turning Point?

December 29, 2008

Amy Winehouse will one day remember 2008 as the year in which she started to recover or the year in which she started to decline even further.

We just don’t know.

We do know that Ms. Winehouse suffers from addiction which has been, as it usually is, costly, sickening and destructive….

We pray that her addiction is behind her now and 2009 will be a better year.

From: Bang Media International

Amy Winehouse spent £3,500 a week on drugs at the height of her addiction, it has been claimed.

The singer was often so desperate for a hit she used a screwdriver to scrape heroin remnants from her drug-taking paraphernalia according to Alex Haines, who claims he had an affair with Amy earlier this year.

Alex said: “Amy had to have a heroin or a crack pipe near her or she freaked out. She’d keep taking drugs until she passed out. I reckon she spent £3,500 a week on them.

“When Amy ran out of drugs she would cut the bottle she used to take them in half and sit there on the floor completely wired, scraping the inside to get the residue with a screwdriver.”

Alex says he began a relationship with Amy – whose husband Blake Fielder Civil is currently in prison serving a 27-month sentence for grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice – after he joined her team as a junior assistant manager in 2007.

He claims the 25-year-old singer is “addicted” to sex, adding their relationship was fuelled by lust.

He told the News of the World newspaper: “It was like having my own little porn star. Amy was so dirty – she wanted sex all the time. We did it four or five times a day and she’d even wake me up for it. She was addicted to sex like she was to drugs.”

Alex revealed Amy – who was recently pictured looking the picture of health during a festive break in St. Lucia – suffers from eating disorder Bulimia, which sees sufferers binge on food and then make themselves sick, and sometimes gorges on 10 chocolate bars a day.

He said: “Amy suffered from bulimia, which is why she looked so thin. She would have a massive McDonalds and then throw it all up in the bathroom. I found my toothbrush covered in sick, and asked her about it.

“She told me she suffered from it for a long time. Several times I went into her bathroom and saw sick all over the sink.”

Gaining a Lasting Legacy from Those that Died in 2008

December 24, 2008

Sometimes, there is a lasting good when someone passes.

Heath Ledger entertained and  enlightened me.  Mostly he enlightened.

As we near the end of this year, we often think about the rich and famous who have enlightened or entertained us.  I am thinking about Heath Ledger and Tim Russert: both enlightened me much more than they entertained.

And both have a lasting legacy in my mind….

Cocaine is a “party drug” right? You want it after you’ve been thinking and drinking.

But that is really bad thinking.

Heath Ledger’s legacy is not “Brokeback Mountain” or “The Patriot” or family and children and happy memories.

Sadly, Actor Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose of six drugs — painkillers and sedatives.  “Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylaminediazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine,” said the medical examiner’s spokeswoman.

Heath Ledger

This sent me on a months long journey to discover the impact of mixing so many dangerous drugs.

The results were frightening but probably completely predictable: most medical doctors say the risk of mixing so many dangerous drugs if frightening to the extreme. Even mixing a few can be and often is deadly.

“If you come in on alprazolam (Xanax) I know what to do.  If you come in using Xanax and alcohol and Ambien you have created a very difficult dilemma for me.  How much, when, what have you eaten?  If you come in with various types of drugs in you; you create, sometimes, a gordian knot the physician is ill euipped to deal with.”

That’s a quote from one of many M.D.s we interviewed.  All had experience dealing with people who had ingested several drugs over time.

“There is just no good outcome to mixing drugs.  Your friend Heath Ledger is the epitome of that,” said a doctor to me.

A friend of mine, already addicted to alcohol and cocaine, was recently hospitalized.  While there, a doctor prescribed oxycodone and hydrocodone.  We moved him to another facility after consulting other medical professionals.

And treatment, once one is hooked, will be frightening, prolonged and painful.

“If you can just get me to rehab I’ll be O.K.”

We’ve heard that time and again.  Rehab is not nirvana — the state of being free from  suffering.  Rehab is often just a way-station.

Getting clean and sober takes time, effort, commitment and sometimes, a lot of money.

But it is worth it. If one achieves lasting recovery.

The alternative is death while you are still young.  You’ll miss the party completely.

Lots of Hollywood types and entertainers have been dealing with drugs.  This should put us all on notice that drugs and alcohol are life threatening.  Just this year we’ve seen Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, Ryan O’Neil and many others in trouble with drugs.

So we write this as a caution as we all prepare to “celebrate” Christmas and New Years. Don’t mix drugs during the holidays: or at any other time.

There is a huge likelihood that a teenager you know shares these following things with Heath Ledger and Britney Spears: Vicodin, Oxycontin and Xanax and the belief that since doctors prescribed these they are OK to use.

But what few grasp is this: doctors are not saints.  Several told us that they prescribe drugs quickly so they can get to the next patient faster.

Add to this people who mix drugs, take more than is prescribed, mix drugs with alcohol, mix drugs without the primary care physician’s knowdge and “doctor shop.”

You end up with addiction, other illnesses and death.

Sadly, Heath Ledger’s Dad knows this too well.

“While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy,” he said.

Intervention is that course of action that stops an abuser or an addict dead in their tracks — before death knoks on their door.

If you know someone who needs care due to drug (including alcohol) addiction or abuse: take action.  Show your love by causing an intervention.

You’ll regret looking the other way for the rest of your life.

Amy Winehouse: Topless Part “Looks Healthy!”

December 22, 2008

I find Amy Winehouse to be irrestistable.  She’s talented, beautiful and unafraid.

She is also a drug addict and she is just like a bunch of people in our modern society.  She gets into trouble and she needs help.

Help means “rehab” and rehab means doctors and a wide variety of  “cures.”  But the fact that is looming ever larger is this: there is no cure to drug and alcohol addiction, really.  There are programs and there is effort and hard work — but there is no cure….

Amy Winehouse’s Addiction: Costly, Sickening, Destructive But Is It Over?

Amy Winehouse was spotted this weekend looking healthier than she has in months as she showed off some new curves while frolicking topless on a Caribbean beach.

The “Rehab” singer, 25, who is currently receiving treatment at a London clinic after a drug overdose, seemed to be quite comfortable with herself as she relaxed and sunbathed in St. Lucia in nothing but a pair of skimpy bikini bottoms.

And according to the Daily Mail, Winehouse has not only gained a few much-needed pounds, but also hired a personal trainer to help her get back into shape.

“She’s very enthusiastic about her sessions and bounds in to work out on the bikes, weights and Power Plate,” a source told the Mail.

Perhaps it’s her separation from husband Blake Fielder Civil that has done her well. Civil was recently sent back to prison after failing a drug test and breaking the early release terms of his 27-month sentence, the Mail said.

Her family is also thrilled at Winehouse’s apparent progress in treatment. “She’s being taken care of. She’s resting and eating well, and there are no drugs there,” her mother Janis said.
