Duke Coach Slam Dunks Obama: Go Fix the Economy

March 19, 2009

The Messiah spoke out in an effort to tell the barons of college football how to have a playoff system even before he was president.

“If you’ve got a bunch of teams who play throughout the season, and many of them have one loss or two losses, there’s no clear decisive winner. We should be creating a playoff system,” he told CBS’ Steve Kroft on “60 Minutes” last November 15 (2008).

Now  he seems to be exhibiting a propensity for telling everyone how to run their “business” — like Wall Street big guns and others.  He signed a bill (the stimulus) that protected the same AIG bonues he called “an outrage” and now will probably sign a bill imposing confiscatory taxation on those same bonuses.

So Barack Obama is unafraid to take any position on just about anything.

And he has gone into sports management yet again; offending some very good young men, their coach and fans, needlessly.

Does he think he’s always right and we must know?  After all, “I won.”

We don’t have to believe….

Duke Coach Slam Dunks Obama

From Fox News and the Associated Press

Barack Obama picked North Carolina to defeat Louisville for the NCAA championship, a relatively safe selection for a trailblazing president.

Obama spent part of Tuesday making his tournament picks for ESPN, which posted his completed bracket online Wednesday and showed the First Fan filling it out with Andy Katz on the noon edition of “Sportscenter.”

Of course, the president’s choice drew a reaction from the Tar Heels’ most intense rival.

“Somebody said that we’re not in President Obama’s Final Four, and as much as I respect what he’s doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said from the Blue Devils’ first-round site in Greensboro, N.C.

The president had top-seeded Pittsburgh join the No. 1-seeded Tar Heels and Cardinals in the Final Four, but chose second-seeded Memphis to beat Connecticut in the West Regional.

“I think Memphis has got a very athletic team,” Obama told Katz, an ESPN college basketball analyst. “I think they’ve got a good shot.”

The Whole Week Seems “Blown” as A-Rod, Michael Phelps Under a Cloud

February 7, 2009

Nothing and no one is sacred.

Alex Rodriguez got all those great looking hits and women by using performanc enhancing drugs and Michael Phelps is just an aquatic pot head.

Geez.

Oh, the humanity!

“You’ll have to talk to the union,” A-Rod said.

That’s a new low if it is a denial.

Michael said, “Got any Cheetos?”

He’ll be in the pool from now on….

Save your Corn Flakes box bearing Michael’s image.  That’s a real collectors item now and the only “image” he has left with many parents…

Super Bowl: Arizona, Ken Whisenhunt, Kurt Warner

February 1, 2009

Ken Whisenhunt will have a great game plan, and the cerebral Kurt Warner will get just enough time from his offensive line to move the chains of history.

Cardinals 27, Steelers 24

– Dan Bickley, The Arizona RepublicThe Steelers are accustomed to the big stage and that defense can be intimidating. The Cardinals are 3-0 in the playoffs for a reason, however. They have a multitude of offensive threats, and the defense is good enough to control a Steelers offense that isn’t great.

Plaxico Burress: Armed, Dangerous and Stupid (Apparently)

December 24, 2008

Plaxico’s house was searched and guns, ammo and other objects were seized, police said on Christmas eve….

In our opinion, Pro Players should leave their ego and their guns at home an enjoy their cushy, highly paid life and perform as expected.

Plaxico may have ruided his NFL career by playing with guns….He wouldn’t be the first “star” too risk everything…

From Michael Vick to Jim Brown there is a parade of “Bad Boys” from the NFL, other sports and Hollywood.  We are not saints; just people.  Now Plaxico Burress gets 15 minutes of fame not for a Super bowl touchdown but for shooting hemself in the foot, er, leg….

The weekend self-injury of New York Giants star badboy Plaxico Burress, who sustained a personal injury gunshot in the leg when an illegally concealed weapon accidentally went off may have a few others in hot water.

In New York state, it is a misdemeanor for a hospital not to report a gunshot wound to the police, and according to reports, that is exactly what happened.  It appears that several employees of New York-Cornell Hospital, who treated Burress, did not contact the police. The New York State Department of Health is investigating to see if information was deliberately hidden to protect Burress. Additionally the hospital itself has admitted it has suspended an employee for not following procedure.  The hospital says it is their policy to contact the police in regards to all gunshot patients.

Meanwhile Antonio Pierce, another New York Giant who was with Burress at the club Latin Quarter during the injury and aftermath, is being sought for questioning by police.  It appears, however, that he ditched the cops yesterday in favor of a paid radio appearance.  Pierce also is reported to have spoken to NFL security about the incident without a lawyer present which could get the league itself tangled up in the investigation.
